Don’t Waste Your Time With Craigslist

The past few weeks I have been doing some research on the Craigslist personals section, to see whether it’s a fertile environment to find women to cheat on your girlfriend with. I had done this a year earlier and come up with a resounding “NO!” I figured I’d give it a year and revisit the site to see if it had improved any.

Friends and coworkers occasionally mention it so I thought it was gaining traction in the online dating arena, hopefully becoming more legitimate.

But after my latest two week foray into the Craigslist personals I can whole honestly say that it’s a waste of your time. But this goes not only for cheaters but for any guy looking to meet a woman period.

The Craigslist personals are a breeding ground for spammers, men posing as women, overweight unattractive women (my bad Big Beautiful Women or BBW) demanding the moon, and in some cases even blatant offers of prostitution.

Here is the breakdown:

65 % Spammers
They put up posts/ads posing to be women in order for you to write back so they can acquire your email address. Then they reply with either a fake email asking you to go to some online dating website where you can continue the conversation. Or they just email you links to porn sites… and not very good ones either, I know I’ve checked, it’s called research, he he he.

15% Guys Posing as Women
Guys put up fake posts posing as women as a joke to see how many men reply, or they do it with a picture of their ex to get even.

15% Big Beautiful Women (BBW)
BBW 's love to put up posts/ads demanding unrealistic expectations. Here’s a clue ladies; if you’re not getting it in the real world posting an ad is not going to get you a date with Brad Pitt. You need to lower your expectations and stop wasting everyone’s time with your unfulfilled fantasies.

5% Prostitutes
I was as surprised to find this type of posts/ads on Craigslist Personals. I thought they would better monitor this type of activity. Usually they aren’t asking for payment in Dollars, they ask for it in Roses. But you think a little bit and you’ll realize 1 Rose = 1 Dollar, you do the math. Also there are quite a lot of ads for women looking to be companions of affluent older men, can you say escort service?

I spent most of my time on the Women Seeking Men, and the Casual Encounters sections. I did delve a little bit into the Strictly Plutonic section, but found that the demands of the “women” there were even more outrageous than those of the BBW’s? They want to be taken out, wined and dined, have presents bought for them, taken on lavish trips or concerts but refuse to put out and they let you know about that ahead of time. So I didn’t even waste my time in that section, nor should you.

In the end the title of this blog says it all… Don’t Waste Your Time With Craigslist.

Take Care,

A.C.

I have to disagree here (otherwise your blog is excellent!) as I have met the most amazing mistress (married woman, perfect for daytime cheating) on CL, and have another excellent prospective mistress in view from CL...The first one replied to an add I had and the second I replied to. There were a couple of duds, but I think the success ratio is excellent (much better than dating sites for instance, were all the girls are so blasé).

I would agree with the article. I've been trying to find someone via casual encounters for over a year now. I've had some responses, but nothing solid. I had a couple try to talk me into doing both of them. Thanks but I'm not into men, hello??? I've had several that find out I'm married and then procede to berate me because of it. I guess they never considered the fact that not every marriage is happy and when it's ugly things get complicated. I've also had men try to come on to me, prostitutes, etc. It all BS.

it's even worse nowadays. I would say that in Casual Encounters W4M ads, about 85% are now spammers, 10% fatties, 4% gay men posing as women, and 1% are actual women looking. I know 'cause I found one REAL woman looking to get together. She said that within 10 min of her ad appearing on the page, she had something like 60 emails, a day later it was close to 200. I happened to be one of the first by sheer luck. Among the women that do actually post ads, most are flakes. I've had a few talk the talk but when it came down to it, they flaked out.

Oh, and there's also a gang of flaggers on there making it even more difficult to post an ad and keep it up for more than a few minutes. I've found that M4W ads that mention "married" get flagged rather quickly opposed to those that don't.

If you're going to cheat on someone why get married in the first place? Duh. You complain about how not every marriage is a happy one, well then get a fucking divorce like the rest of the world!

CL--Craplist. Period.

Folks, 99% of what you read in these personal sections--including under 'Platonic'--is spam from dating site affiliates or some other ball of poop. And here's the way to spot them:

1) No contractions or contractions without apostrophes, e.g., 'I am,' or 'Im,' etc.
2) No capitalization, e.g., 'im,' 'well, this is...,' etc.
3) Text whose margins end about midway across the page
4) Text that begins, "never done this..." "New to this...", etc.
5) Text that read like broken English
6) Photos that are a) blurry; b) show a person who's in their 30s or 40s but who claims to be in their early 20s; c) nudes
7) Posts in which the age is different than what's mentioned in the text
8) Or the city is

Craig and his list are not like newspaper classsified in that there is no way to police who posts to it. Most of what you see here and even a considerable amount of what is posted elsewhere on these websites are frauds.

Be advised.

100% agree. Craigslist is a joke. I meet girls and guys for sex online all the time, Swuirt, SwingersHeaven, Bi AUstralia, Adult matchmaker and Oasis. All of them are hit and miss.

Craigslist is MISS!

So obvious no matter what you Post or what Post you reply to the contact you make is 85% a Scammer/Spammer from another country overseas

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME
